This book is in the American Institute Library in Oxford, England.John Drake is included in 'The Names of Adventurers with their seurerall sums adventured, paid to Sir Thomas Smith, Knight, late Treasurer of the Company for Virginia.'
The index has this information:"A Declaration of the state of the Colonie and Affaires in Virginia:With the Names of the Adventurers, and the summes adventured, in that Action. By his Maiestie's Counseil for Virginia, 22 Iunij, 1620"
That must be the date that is on our Drake family Tree print.I haven't seen anything about Dover, England, though!! I am wondering where that came from on the tree!!!
Perhaps we need to track from Virginia to South Carolina!!!
I also came across a thesis (for Oxford, U.K.) about the Dorchester Group in Massachusetts (Puritans) and how some of them came to South Carolina.John Drake was mentioned in that thesis and it gives his background in Devon, England.
"The English Background of the Dorchester Group and Its Impact on American Culture in the Seventeenth and Eighteenth Centuries" by Ann Natalie Hansen.
