Dear Stephen Drake Thomas,
Hi, remember me, Jacqueline Drake Clepper, daughter of James Franklin Drake, son of Newton J. Drake, Roane County, WV. My dad and your grandmother, Aunt Dora, were brother and sister. I believe that I have sent you information in the past - just don't remember the date. Since our family is uniquely IRISH, as proven by (1)DNA and (2) Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland, we are both hard pressed to find information on other Drakes - because there are not many of our family, BUT, I have the originals of the testings. Flo Cox, whom I believe you have also contacted, has gotten her recent years info and corrections from me, but, perhaps others have and can add to what we already have. You asked for SOURCE DOCUMENTS, the Roane County Court Clerk, Spencer, WV has good records from 1856 when the county was formed from Kanawaha County. There is a fee to the Clerk, if you want original source documents with certification. Kanawaha County Court House has copies of the original lands (16,800 acres)from early 1800 to 1856.
Are you trying to sell the original Walter Thompson lands in Roane County? I do not know how many children your mother, Pauline, had but it seems to me that you are the only one, huh? My brother, David, lives in the San Antonio area and knew your mother before she died.

(In addition, my husband died on January 7, 2009 and I rarely check other sites - not on the computer much these days but was prompted by someone else that you had posted a query.) I do hope to get some response though from this answer and will gladly respond.
