1719 Va - Powels Point comes from James Dauge's will (15 Apr 1719 in Princess Anne County, Virginia). According to another source, the property on Powels Point listed in Dauge's will is near a Tull's Creek. As I already mentioned, the southern portion of this property is referred to in the will as "Piggy Point," and it is that portion of the land that is given to Peter Dauge who I am researching.
Peter married twice
1. Susannah Tully (c1714) and
2) Angelica Gregory (c1738)
The first marriage to Susannah (?) might be another clue to the location since she may be the daughter of Benjamin Tull (Tully), and Tull's Creek is said to be in the area. Not sure if any of that helps--I'm working to track this family (through Ann Lamb Dozier) to the Grandy family of Norfolk, Virginia. Ann and Cyrus Grandy arrived in Norfolk from North Carolina around 1844 or 1845.

1751 in VA, NC, Ga - Thomas Thornton, brother of Mark Thornton Jr. (both sons of Mark Thornton Sr. and Mary Bruce)on Lunenbug County Virginia Tithe List in 1751.
In 1752 there is a John Mark and Thomas Thornton listed together on the Lunenburg County Virginia Tithe List.
1764 Thomas Thornton owns land on the south side of Smith's Creet, Bute Co., NC. The implication is this is Mark's brother Thomas.
Mark Thornton III son of Mark Thornton Jr. and Elizabeth (Dozier) deeds land to brother Thomas Thornton on Little Creek, off Smith's Creek, Bute Co., NC in 1767.
1771 Mark Thornton Jr. deeds land to Mark III, Thomas and Dozier Thornton in Bute Co., NC.
1781 Thomas and Mark Thornton III were tithables on Smith's Creek, Warren Co., NC.
1784 Thomas, Dozier and Mark III Thornton all received land in Wilkes., GA
1785 Thomas, Dozier and Mark Thornton were on tax list in Wilkes Co., GA.
1797 Thomas Thornton and wife Molly sold land in Elbert Co., GA.
Mark Thornton Sr.'s son Thomas Thornton was born c. 1733.
It may be that this Thomas Thornton (brother of Dozier Thorton) is the father of Thomas Thornton (1782-1820)..."
A Thornton family bible reads, "Thomas Thornton was born April the 8th day in the year of our Lord 1782 on Monday morning at about 10 o'clock.
Mark Thornton his pa's book written by Mark Thornton and this was his pa's Book."
Listed in the bible with this Thomas Thornton are
Sally born Sept. 2, 1768
Pryer born April 27, 1770
John born Dec. 14, 1775
Patty born Dec. 22, 1777
Thomas born Spril 8, 1782
Polley born Feb. 5, 1787
In something called the Thomas Thornton Ledger which was given to the Georgia Archives in 1955 again appears a Thomas Thornton born April the 8th 1782.
Thomas is listed as having married Lucy White December 26, 1805.
John M. Thornton is listed as Thomas and Lucy's son.
Other children are Elizabeth W. married a Warren, Elzy, Sally married an Eavenson, Eppy, and Mark.
Thomas is listed as having died May 20th 1820.
This Thomas is listed as being the son of Marey, with his father possibly being Thomas and his father's father as being Mark also married to a Mary.
The author does not state this as fact, stating only that he/she is fairly certain that Thomas' mother's name was Mary.
In the 1790 Census of Elbert County Georgia there are several Thornton's:
Dozier Thornton, Preacher
James Thornton
Thomas Thornton
Mark Thornton
Rueben Thornton
Thomas Thornton and his wife Molly sold 123 acres on Beaverdam Creek to William Arnold 7-10-1797" in the Elbert County, Georgia records.
Whether this is Thomas Thornton son of Thomas or Thomas Thornton son of Mark is unclear.
The 1805 Land Lottery in Georgia Thornton enrollees were
Daniel
Dozier
Mark
Mark
Reubin Sr.
Thomas with only 1 draw (to qualify for 2 draws he must have had a living wife or minor children)
Thomas Jr. 2 draws
Both Thomas' won a "prize"
Heads of Household in GA in the 1820 were census included
Lucy K. Thornton, Thomas' Widow
Published minutes of Vann's Creek Baptist Church
"Jan. 17, 1798, a complaint was heard against Brother Thomas Thornton for drinking in excess and wanting to fight. Thomas was asbent, and a committee was appointed to cite him."
Feb. 10, 1798, Brother Thomas Thornton was excluded."
I don't know if this helps at all, but I do know the trials of working through this family.
I'm a decedant of Mark Thornton Sr. and Mary (Bruce's) son Mark Thornton Jr. and Elizabeth (Dozier's) son Dozier Thornton. If you have any questions my e-mail address is marie@os-it.net. Good Luck

Alabama - Shemian Stuckey appears to have married a second time. In the 1850 census of Dale County, AL his wife is enumerated as Lavicy with a son Thomas, age 5. That Thomas was living in Gadsden County, FL in 1920. Thomas was a half brother to Nancy A. Dozier, daughter of Britten Dozier, indicating that Lavicy married first Britten Dozier. Lavicy died in Marion County, FL on 17 Aug 1852. Do you have an data on when and where Shemian died and the surname of Lavicy? Thanks, Jim King ............. Hi! Don't know if you have this info. Shemian Stuckey was my gggrandfather's brother ............. He is the son of Edmund stuckey Jr. and 2nd wife Edith Howell. What are you trying to find out? I have a little on Edmund (his father) and a few pages in a Stuckey genealogy book on Shem that I would be happy to scan and email to you. My book has his wives as Lauivy Amelia Permeler and Loving (no last name) ................ Let me know Jennifer Stuckey Ellis ........... Seeking info on the family of Shemian Stuckey born in NC Abt 1791; died in AL or FL abt 1855. Son Thomas b 1844 in SC; living in Gadsden County, FL in 1920. Shem was last enumerated in the 1850 US Census of Dale County, AL. Shemian's first wife was Permeler, based on posting on Ancestry.Com. The wife in 1850 was Lovicy/Lavicy. Was Lovicy the mother of Thomas? What was her surname? ................. 1852 No, just the ones in Marion County, FL. I will try the Marion County Historical Society and see if they have the names of newspapers in Marion County, FL in 1852. By the way, she was in her 52d year when she died. Maybe the Historical Society can direct us to the Obits if there are any. Jim
