Barbara: The only help I can give is my knowledge that my great-grandfather Joseph Doyle (father Thomas) came to Conn., and then to Mass. about 1857. His gravestone said he was a "Native of Kildare," Laois, Ireland. Two families, the Doyles and Mahans, who lived in the area between Laois and Kildare, immigrated together at that time. Naturalization papers helped with places and dates. I wish I could say as much about Catholic records. Good luck. Kathleen
