Martin Doyle in Orange Co., NC in the mid to late 1700's

Martin Doyle who m. Mourning Webb and probably d. in Logan Co., KY ca. 1815 and buried in the Doyle cemetery there, may have his origins in Orange Co., NC before marrying Mourning and having one son John who had 17 chn. by multiple wives and is buried in the Doyle Cemetery also.

Here is what I came across when searching for the Weeks families of Orange Co., NC who probably migrated from the southside of VA.

Time line:

1763 Inventory of Joshua Hadley mentions debt from Martin Doyle. (Maybe Martins father)

1765 Aug. Inventories of John and Martin Doyle, Hastings Doyle administrator. (There must have been an accident or desease that claimed both of their lives at the same time. No wills or estates were found yet.)

1774 William Brown dec'd paid by Hastings Doyle

1775 Est. of George Josias Doyle

1785 Inventory of William Lindley, mentions Martin Doyle.

In Henry Co., VA 1783 there is a Martin Doyle in the militia there. Henry is not far from Orange and it is conceivable that the Martins could be one in the same.

This prob. deserves further research but it certainly offers a possibility of a new Doyle branch that at least by me was not known before.
