Can anyone help me make connections with James Doyle in Rutherford Co. N. C. for sure?
Lawrence Co., Ala 1820 Census shows James Doyle w/o wife but with 1 female under 21 and 1 male above 21 and 9 slaves.
James O. listed with 1 male over 21, 1 male under 21 and 1 female under 21 and 2 slaves.
Joseph and 1 female over 21 (wife)listed with 2 slaves.(I believe this is the Joseph born 1788) buried in Carroll County, Mississippi.
William G(illiam) listed with 1 white female under 21 and 2 slaves. (May have had earlier wife). We know he married Jane Estill whose family also lived in Lawrence Co. Ala.Estill family originally from Madison Co., Ky.Her father served as Ky. State Legislator.(Jane died 1840's).William G. Doyle may have married again after her death.
The Doyle family may have lived in Ky., but we do not know which county.
We believe there is a connection with the Gilliam family (perhaps several generations prior) due to William Gilliam Doyle's name.
Does anyone have any information on James Doyle who was brother to David and Allen Doyle.
