Any hopes that your William b 1767 came from VA? There is a Wm Doyel on the 1798 Tax list for Southampton Co. VA (substitute census). He is a part of a large Doyel (and various spellings) family that I descend from.

The Hardy Doyal I descend from is found in VA, later in GA, then up into Southern TN, then in AL. I am afraid I have made an error in thinking he came straight south. I am very interested in the westward movement of this Doyell/Doyel, Doyal/Doyle family. Hardy could well have gone west before moving down into GA. At any rate, his kin could have headed in that direction.

Do you know of a Samuel Doyle b 1803 in KY who married an Abagail Burt?

I go round and round with these ancestors! Jeanne Park
