Anna,
Not sure if this helps you or not.
A Samuel Doyle and Martha Farmer were m. in MD, prob. in Baltimore, ca. 1660.They moved to NC and had four sons and possibly a dau.The sons were Thomas Doyle who m. Mehulda Baxter, Gregory Doyle who m. Martha Gott, Farmer who. may have m. Rebecca Coe/Coles and Samuel who m. Mahaly Lovelace. For sure Samuel was in KY in 1824 because he is prob. the one who wit. the will of a John Doyle who is my branch.
Anyway, Samuel and Mahaly had the following chn:
Althea Doyle m. Nathan Allen
Nancy Doyle m. Ruben Conlee, Matilda, Cecelia, John, James, Issac, Gregory and Thomas. These are not verified, however there is a Matilda which is the only that I know of in the Doyle family in that period.I don't know who the grandchildren were of Samuel and Mahaly, so possibly your Matilda could be one of them.I don't think that Matilda could have been the right one since Mahaly would have been 50 yr old when Matilda would have been born. Since I don't have her exact bd she could have given birth....possible but not probable.Aletha was m. 1818 and Nancy was m. 1815.
Good Luck,
Walter Weeks
