I am descended from Hardy Doyal through Gustavus Adolphus Doyal (born 1836) and his son Charles born 1865. My father was named LT Doyal ( obviously a family name after Colonel LT Doyal born 1809) and I am LT Doyal jnr. My wife and I would be very interested in hearing wht you know about Hardy Doyal who would seem to be our common ancestor (though by a different route). Do you know how he (or his ancestors) got to the US? By the way there are no other Doyals in the telephone book in the UK where we live and none in Ireland. So what are its origins? Any ideas?
