Hi Tom, {You may know most of this }Your Grandma Mandy is my Grandma Ada Lou Cardwell's sister,and your Grandpa Will is the brother of my Grandpa Jesse Leon Knowles,making their children double-first cousins.William Green Knowles gets the Green from his Grandpa Green B. Knowles,son of Thomas Knowles.Green B. ,along with his sons ,nephews and cousins served the CSA through to the end [have their service records]Green's son George S. Knowles and his family ,incl Will and Jesse L.,found work with railroad ,and subsequently with activation of ore mining operations in Birmingham Al .The Cardwells were in Ruffner Valley when the Knowles brothers came through building the rr to Ruffner Mines, and "didn't let them get away"{Ada]
