Elana, I am not sure at this point who all of the children are that was sired by Isaac Downs.
There were 2 or 3 Isaac Downs in Georgia about the same time...one in Richmond County, one in Columbia County and the one I am connected to....Isaac Downs of Warren and/or Glascock County, Ga.
He was born in NC....married Lewrania - unknown maiden name, moved to Ga. and died in Glascock Co.
I found these common names in Georgia and wondered if they might fit.
In Carrol, Ga. Dist. 1111 - 1880 census
James W. Downs age 49
H. Jane 48
James W. J. 22
Ora J. 15
Joseph E. 13
Walter A. 11
George L. 7
In another place and I am not familier wih Taylor, Georgia
I did find a Malinda (or Melinda) Downs who married Charles Hays on November 18, 1866.
