I'm on again, off again with genealogy these days--as time allows. However, I've been at it for more than 20 years. I already had one Kimberly descent in a book I published in 1996. At the moment I have another Kimberly line beginning ca. 1550 and continuing down to: Lt. Nathaniel Kimberly, b. 1666/67, d. before Dec. 5, 1720, New Haven; m. Sept. 22, 1692, New Haven, Hannah Downs, daughter of John Downs. She was b. New Haven Jan. 19, 1670/71, d. after 1720. Administration of the estate of Nathaniel Kimberly was granted Dec. 5, 1720, to Hannah Kimberly, the widow. Distribution was ordered, a third to the widow, the rest to be divided into eight shares, two to go to the eldest son, and a single share to each other chilld. Distribution was to the widow, Nathaniel, Zu-riel, Abraham, Abigail, Hannah, Mary and Bathshua (New Haven probate re-cords 5:43, 48). Children of Nathaniel and Hannah (all born at New Haven): a. Hannah, b. April 24, 1694; m. (1) Aug. 8, 1726, at Fairfield, John Lyon (will dated Dec. 13, 1734, proved Feb. 4, 1734/35) son of Sgt. Samuel and Susanna (Jackson) Lyon; m. (2) at New Fairfield, Thomas Pike, who d. before March 13, 1760. b. Abigail, b. July 1, 1696, d. Nov. 28, 1763, Guilford, Conn.; m. Sept.19, 1716, Joseph Parmelee, b. 1694 Guilford, d. 1751, Durham. c. Mary, b. July 14, 1698; m. Benjamin Treadwell, son of Edward and Mary (Turney) Treadwell. d. Nathaniel, b. April 11, 100, d. Aug. 15, 1780, New Haven; m. April 24, 1724, Hannah Candee. e. Bathsheba (or Bathhua), b. Feb. 28, 1703/04; m. Samuel Wilson. f. Zuriel, b. Nov. 25, 1706, d. after 1766; m. (1) 1730, Hannah Hill, (2) 1766 Mary -------. g. Abraham, b. March 22, 1709, d. Feb. 19, 1797. My descent continues via daughter Hannah and her husband John Lyon. So in pursuing also allied families along the way, I am interested in any anecdotal material, as well as the ancestry of JOHN DOWNS, father of Hannah who m. Nathaniel Kimberley. Also anything at all on the wife of John Downs, if available. Thanks, Tom Camfield Notify Administrator about this message?
