Donna - Am SO happy to see Idelwild on the Preservation Alliance web page. All interested Downman's should visit the web site. The commercial building that has already taken place at the foot of Belle Isle is an eyesore, but to think of this historic and lovely home being razed, would be a crime. I would think the Commonwealth of Virginia would not stand for it!! Perhaps if we pull together with letters to appropriate people and some other actions, we can make an impact to save this place of importance. We Downman's owe you thanks for all the work and attention you have donated to this cause. I would like to see us pay you back for your devotion to this project.
