Hi, I thought this would be a good place to ask this.
It seems that I am descended from Susan Downing (b. 1622), daughter of Emanuel Downing and his first wife Anne Ware.
I was trying to find out the parentage of this Downing line, but am finding all sorts of conflicting information. Is Emanuel Downing descended from the George Downing who married Elizabeth Wingfield, or from the Gamlingay Downings? Or maybe these lines are related? How do the Calybut Downings fit in?
It seems like all the old books I can dig up say something different, some frankly say the others are wrong.
