I probably should have said Doctor Calybut (2) was suspected of being killed by the king. I have not seen it in writing that he was.
I have come across a writing that said he gave a speech that was consideed treasonous. He stated in the speech that under certain circumstances it was appropriate to rebel against a king. He had to flee as a consequence and was said to have died suddenly sometime after that. It would be interesting to know if his son died at the same time.
I believe punishment for treason at that time involved being drawn and quartered. I don't know if remains were buried under those circumstances.
Another possibility concidering the religious sensitivities and envioronment of that time would be that because he was a Vicar, he was just taken and quietly executed someplace.
If one of these posibilities are fact,it may be difficult to find his grave.
