One of the DOWNIE family members married into some of my husband's family (McCRORY)in Jackson Co KS. There was a fairly recent obit for Antoinette Rose Cummings DOWNIE, wife of Robert E. They had moved from KS to CA. She is buried in St Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Jackson Co KS. I found Robert's death listed in CA death index.

I also found Charles Ernest DOWNIE. He applied for license to marry Sarah SELLON in Jackson Co MO 23 Jun 1914. Her place of residence was Perry Ave, Kansas City MO. His was Collyer, Trego Co KS.

I had found Charles' WWI registration card, and it stated he was born in Denison (Jackson Co) KS. Also he and Roy W DOWNIE were living in a household and I find he and Roy were brothers, Roy's WWI card also stating he was born in Denison KS. I found them in 1895 KS, Jefferson Co, their parents were Robert Charles and Elizabeth. Robert sometimes found as Robert C, sometimes as R Charles.
