I was interested in the life and work of Sir Alexander MacKenzie Downie who was knighted for medical servies in July 1840 (that is before the Who's Who reference books etc.,) he practiced medicine on the Continent of Europe mainly in Germany. Any bits of information would be welcome. Thanks.. norman
