From a quick scan in the familysearch.com records, plus census names and dates, I suggest that your ancestors might include the following:

David Hunter Downie, chr 21 Jan 1821, Canongate, Edinburgh, Midlothian, F: James Downie, M: Martha Wright.

James Downie m. Martha Wright 28 Jul 1809, Edinburgh Parish Blotter Comparison, Edinburgh, Midlothian

James Downie chr 30 Jan 1795, St Cuthberts Edinburgh, F: David Downie, M: Christian Millarie.

David Downie m. Christian Milrae, St Cuthberts, Edinburgh, Midlothian.
