thank you so much for your answer.
Actually, i don't know occupation or any other info about Thomas Downie.
All i know is that a Thomas Downie was registered in 1842 at the Protestant Churc of Florence and he came from Edinburgh.
Maybe i'll be able, in the next weeks, to recover a copy of the registration form (my auntie could keep a copy of that).
As soon as possible i'll send you any other info i will find.
It's a quite strange feeling to talk with unknown people who could be a relative of mine. :-)
