Downie b. 13 JUN 1819 in Glasgow and raised in Ayr became the founder of the Gold Mining Town of Downieville, CA in 1849. He marries Adeline Davison in Victoria BC in March of 1862. They have at least two children, William Jr. and Adeline. I am looking for parentage or other ancestry for these particular Downies on William Sr's side.
