I have traced my Downham family back to Wraysbury in Bucks at the end of the 18th Century. William Downham was the parish clerk for a number of years. His son, John, moved to Thorpe and then onto Littleton where his son, John, remained for many years. My great grandfather, William Henry Downham was born in 1858 in Shepperton Green and later married Mary Iles. Unfortunately he died as a result of a rail accident at Ascot Station in 1890. Do any of these names ring a bell with anyone?
