Dear Barb, The Downey Genealogy by my great grandfather Cairn Cross Carson Downey lists a William Downey and his wife (last name) Golden as being born cir 1802 and emmigrating to New South Wales from Ireland cir 1845. His parents are listed in the genealogy. I have e-mailed you a bit of additional information and can send more information via an attachment if you like.
