Believe it or not, I've never been west of Windsor! Do you know where in Ireland the Downey surname is from? Even with that ie. my Kelly's are from Wicklow, but moved to Co. Dublin. Finding the Co. in Ireland would certainly help, but I can't tell you how many times I've had all the info only to still hit a dead end, because there was nothing on them at all, which can be frustrating! Hitting pay dirt only came after throwing his name into the mix as an after thought. My John Downie ( note the spelling change) was born 21 March 1868 in Blythswood, Glasgow, Scotland.
