There were two separate, unrelated Downey families in Harrison County, Missouri in the mid to late 1800s. Archibald Downey and others who are buried at Andover, Monson, the Downey cemetery and others are not related to the Downeys buried at Sharon and Springer cemeteries. Charles Downey and his wife Martha (Moore) were probably the first of their line to arrive in Harrison County.
