It is very good to hear from you Donna. If you have a letter from Alexander Downey in 1854 then there must be something wrong with the allegation that he was murdered in 1850. I show 4 children in 1850, so we have different information about that as well. A good bit of the information that I have came from you in the first place through an email to my brother, S. Frank Cooke in 2000. Frank passed away in 2002 and I have picked up the family genealogy gauntlet.

If your husband is the son of Emma, then we would be first cousins, twice removed.
