Thomas M Downey, born abt 1795. Resided Abbeville, SC per 1820 and 1830 census. By 1840 he resided Maury Co., TN. Known children: Richard, born 1818, and James C, born 1820.
Richard, born 1818 Abbeville SC. Married 1st Martha Ann Gillham 1842; Children: Mary Ann 1843; Nancy Isabella 1844; Martha Jane 1846; Sarah Elizabeth 1849; Thomas James 1852; William Henry 1854; Virginia Caroline 1857; Medora Brown 1860; Isaac Lee 1863. This family had moved to Lewis Co., TN by 1852. Wife Martha Ann died 1863, and later the same year Richard married Nancy Faye Vick. Children from this marriage: Joel Warren 1865; Richard Cullen 1869; Joseph Smith 1871.
Richard Downey died 1898, Nancy Faye 1909, both buried Downey Cemetery Lewis Co., TN.
