Downey Family - AR to GA to SC

I am helping a friend with their Downey family ties. They are descendants of Joseph Hollingsworth Downey and Ann Vandiver. Joseph b. 15 Oct 1823 in Georgia, later moved to Fenter Twp, Hot Spring Co., AR where he and Ann were married 14 October 1843. We believe their ascendancy was via John and Mary Downey, via Joseph Downey, the latter possibly having migrated from Ireland. Does anyone have information on this line?
