Rita: Thanks for the follow-up. The John Downey I am looking for supposedly was born in Ireland in 1819. John died in 1893 and was intered in the Pembroke cemetery, Carleton Co. NB. It is said he came from Ireland in 1834 with two brothers aboard "The Pallas". It is believed he came with 2 brothers - Thomas and Morton. 1951 Census says he came from Ireland in 1841.
