Hi Kenneth,

My grandfather came over from Ireland to
Canada We find him first in the 1851 census
of Canada West, Addington Co. Camden Twp.
His name was John Whitlock Born in 1810,
on the same census it shows two family's,
the Whitlock's and Downey's lived in the same house. The other family was Downey's Mary Ann Downey born in 1810-Widow, William Downey born in 1839 in Canada West, Hannah Downey born in 1843 also born in Canada West, James Downey born in 1845 in Canada West. I don't know if they, John and Mary Ann, are Brother and sister they were both born in Ireland the same year and wentto Canada. I don't know if this helps any but there it is.
