Ms. Faulkinberry,
I've just started looking for my roots online and stumbled onto your request for info from Kaye concerning a William J. Downey. My great, great Grandfather was William Jasper Downey who lived in Choctaw Co., Alabama and was a Confederate soldier. He is buried in a small graveyard east of Quitman, Ms. (very close to the Alabama state line).
I was wondering if this might have any connection to info you received. By the way, his wife's name was Fannie Padgett. One of their sons was my great Grandfather, Lorenzo Dow Downey, also called Lou Downey. If any of this ties in, could you please reply? Thank you in advance, for taking time to respond, if you should.
Wm. "Tony" Downey
