My grandfather (John J. Maher, Jr.) was born in Bloomington, IL on March 7, 1885. His parents were John J. Maher, Sr. and Margaret Downey. Margaret may have been born in Logan Co., IL circa 1860/1861. Margaret's parents were Patrick Downey (b. circa 1828) and Ellen (b.
circa 1830). Patrick and Ellen were born in Ireland and had four
children, all born in IL: Daniel (b. 1858), Margaret (b. 1861), William
(b. 1868) and Mary (b. 1871). Per 1880 census, all were living in
Lincoln, IL (Logan Co.).

I'd appreciate any info that may be out there.
