I have sent a private e-mail to Patije Mills. I have 1850 & 1860 census records for these and other Downeys from Switzerland Co., IN. I also have some listings of marriage records for Downeys in Switzerland Co., IN around that time. I am trying to find out how my grandfather's half sister was a greatgranddaughter of Thomas & Jane via their daughter Mary Downey who married John Jessup. John & Mary raised my grandfather, Edward Ambler and his sister Barbara Ella Ambler. (Edward and Ella then began using the surname of "Jessup).
