I'm looking for descendants of the DOWNEY family of Mercer Co, IL, who were located there in the 1880 Fed. Census. Members of the family and their birthdates (per the 1880 census) are as followes:
Andrew Downey b. abt. 1827 Ireland
Elizabeth b. abt. 1837 Ireland [This is Elizabeth WILSON the d/o Joseph & Katie WILSON of Ireland]
Joseph b. abt. 1858 IL
Johnny b. abt. 1859 IL [Johnny's is married but living in the HH of his parents. His wife's name is Jane and she is listed as 19 yrs of age.]
William b. abt 1863 IL
Wilson b. abt. 1865 IL
Andrew b. abt. 1867 IL
Martha b. abt. 1870 IL
Moses b. abt. 1872 IL
Maggie b. abt. 1875 IL
George b. abt. 1877 IL
James b. abt. 1880 April IL [It is possible that this may not be the s/o Andrew & Elizabeth, but, the s/o Johnny & Jane. Though the census lists James relationship to the head of the family as son.]
Elizabeth had two brothers who came to Mercer Co. to stay with her for a short time. Their names were Wm. and Moses WILSON.
Hoping to hear from anyone interested in this family. I would love to share information.
