This may be a long shot, but here goes. THOMAS DOWNES, of Haughton, has a will recorded in Staffordshire. The Will is dated October 7, 1545, and acknowledges his wife, "JONE" and sons JOHN and WILLIAM. Did she have a daughter, born in Staffordshire, that she named after herself is only conjecture at this point. Good luck. David
