Hello Fiona. I know that you are researching those members of your family who emigrated to the USA but wondered if you could help me, none the less? My great grandmother was a Mary Downes from County Westmeath. She died in the late 1920s and had been married to Patrick O'Shea, who died young. She lived in Dublin, where she brought up her family, including my grandfather, Christopher. If you have any information that might help, I should be most grateful, as I know little or nothing of her background.
