i have just seen your posting with regards to the downes family of tullamore
you say that your fathers cousin s nora and billy were the last remaining memebers of the downes family
if they are the same nora and billy who lived in high street tullamore above pat / tom clearys butcher shop then you are right they never had children but other family did have
my grandfather / grandmother louis and ann had 3 kids nancy , monica and my father william
nancy and monica married leaving my father who had 2 girls and me which i think leaves me and my 3 young boys the last remaining downes of tullamaore
if i have this wrong then please dismiss this if right then please contact me
