Searching for information on John & Hannah Downes. All I have starts with the 1850 Florence, Oneida County, NY Census. He was born around 1815 and according to the census he was born in England. He had 3 boys Thomas born 1847 (died young), John born 1849 (died 1907) and William born 1852.
William married Minnie Chase around 1886 or 1887. They had 2 children born in NY a son named William born 1887 and a daughter named Jessie born 1889. Yhey moved to CT and had 4 more children Hannah born 1891, LeRoy Muller (my grandfather) born 1893, Gordon born 1899 and Fridsiwid born 1900.
LeRoy Muller married Maud Armstrong 1920 and they had 4 children Mildred born 1921, John born 1925, LeRoy Muller Jr (my father) born 1926 and Margaret born 1930.
My father always said he was Irish and he looked it. He had a ruddy complexion, green eyes, sandy hair and a red beard when he grew one.
