I am looking for members of the Downes Family who attended a family reunion at Davies Lake in NY in May 1965. My grandfather, Patrick J. Byrne, was supposedly sponsored by a "cousin" Mary Downes when he came to the US from Ireland around 1888. I believe Mary had a son, Dave, who was a police officer in NYC. I attended this reunion with my brothers and parents. I am looking for the connection between the Byrne family and the Downes family.
