Mark: Do you have his place of birth? Have you any census material that shows his parents birth places? This would help. There were very few Dowlins in MO in late 1700-early 1800s. He may be one of John Dulin and Mary Ford Dulin's grandchildren. They were in Ste. Geneveive in late 1700s and St. Louis early 1800s; Plattin Creek area. Their boys used the Dowlin spelling.
