HI Nancy:

I have traced Levi for you. He was in the 1850 Iredell Co Census with his wife, Margaret and 4 daughters. His wife was a Jones and they were married on 6 Nov 1841. Interestingly enough their oldest dau, Martha was 13 during the 1850 census, which may be the reason for having difficulty finding the ancestry of this family. They are in Wilkes Co, NC during the 1860, 1870 and 1880 census. Only Nancy is home during the 1860. Then, in 1870 & 1880 they are listed with grandchildren. A grandson Charles A. is living with them. He must have the last name of Dowell. Did Margaret get married? I don't have the answers at this point. Some would say that Levi is the son of James & Delilah Dickenson Dowell. I don't think so. However, I could be wrong.
