Hi Deanna

I have traced the Dowells back to Bristol with the aid of a book which was printed by a family member. I only have the photocopy of this lengthy interesting item, and have followed it up with inf. from Bristol History Library. They appear to have been in Bristol and Westbury on Trym in the mid 1700 period. William Dowell had a hat business in Wine Street. They then spread out. If I can be of more help please write what you would like to know and if I can help I will. The inf. I have goes back to 1689-1731. I am descended from a Thomas Dowell, who mar. Anne whose children were Charles b.21.3.1813, Maria, Ann, John Edward, Harriet, Ellinor, George Thomas. My line comes, from Thomas, Charles,George Walter who was my Gt Grandfather
