Asa B. DOWELL was related to my wife's g-grandfather, George W. DOWELL. In 1850, 17 year old George was living with Asa and his family. I'm not sure what the relationship was. Asa was probably George's uncle or much older brother. I have not connected them with any other DOWELLs in the area, but am almost sure they are descended from Geo. W. DOWELL b.@1757 VA, moved to Burke Co. NC @1777 and on to IN in 1832, buried Monroe Co. IN.
