No, I don't have any info on John Dowell, but I would be very interested in whatever you may have. The timing seems about right. Did he arrive single or married with children?

Regarding the Peter, father of Philip: as the person in question stated in his followup message, he had the wrong generation. The name Philip appears frequently among Philip's descendents. Our Philip had a son Peter who had a son Philip and a son Philip who had a son Philip as well.
