Thanks for posting. I don't know much about any of
John Jackson Dowell's brothers or sisters. I have
a part list of John Jackson's children from the
1880 Census. I am decended from his son Marion
Elmer. I think John Jackson was married to Ann
Borden and later to Nancy R. (unknown) who seems
to be Marion's mother. John Jackson's death
certificate said father John Dowell born in Allen
county. Mother Betsy Street born Unknown. I think
Betsy died just after 1850 in Tn. It seems John
must have already been dead. Earlier Tn. Census
indicate that they were born in Va. parents and
year unknown. I am happy to hear from someone in
Allen county. I felt sure that some decendents must
still be there. I also believe that they moved
across the Tn line into Sumter Co. some over the
years. John's death certificate was completed by
J.H. Cealvert? thank again for any and all help.
