I have a Thaddus Dowell born 1845, Virginia, who could be the same man or a close relative. Thaddus' parents were Jesse D. Dowell (1797-1867) and Mary (N) (b. 1800) who lived near Ketocton Church at Round Hill, Loudoun County, Va. Jesse D. Dowell's ancestry is uncertain; he was probably a descendant of Thomas Dowell of Prince William County, Va. My best guess is 1Thomas 2Nehemiah Sr. 3Nehemiah Jr. 4Jesse D. 5Thaddus. Let me know if this fits.
