I've seen it a couple of times that those Dowells were "of German descent" ... I'm not sold on that yet .. I've not seen enough on his dad George .. I think it is just one of those hearsay things for printing pupposes ... I've never seen any actual evidence to attest to it ... On one of my other line I've seen it published several times that they were from Ireland when in fact they were Briston England .. The error even pulished the wrong ship that one of them arrived on ... right now I think the Dowells and the Bedford Co. Dowells are form the same source and they split up either in Maryland or Virginia ...
