Hi, I'm Angela Hughes, of Detroit, MI. I am the daughter of Alice Hughes, the grand daughter of Lois I. Earnest-Tarter, the great grand daughter of Julia Dowell-Earnest, the great, great grand daughter of Sallie(Sarah)Whittington-Dowell,(who married Edward Dowell), the great, great, great grand daughter of Lucinda Bly-Whittington of Boone, NC.

Edward and Sallie (Sarah) had 11 children: Robert, William, Joseph, Etta Florence/Florence Etta, Maggie, Sallie (Sarah), Julia(Judy), my great grandmother, James, Frederick, Grace, and Lillian, all of the North Carolina area.
