John Dowell apparently was a Rev. War soldier, likely from Albemarle Co., VA living in Burke Co., NC after the war. He died in DeKalb Co., TN. He had a close relationship to Richard Herrin of Burke who was later in White Co., TN. Any leads as to their relationship? John and Richard were in the same household when Richard was 9 or 10.
