There are records that indicate that this George DOWELL, veteran of the Rev War, father of Polly and James DOWELL, died and was buried in Monroe Co. IN. The whole family moved from Burke Co. NC to IN in 1832. George's war service pension file mentions his son-in-law, Rueben Coffey. I'm trying to connect my George DOWELL, b. 1833 IN with this family but I'm not having any success.
