Lloyd R. Dowell, 84, a former Swanton resident and a mail carrier in Toledo for 30 years died Saturday in St Luke's Hospital. Mr. Dowell, who retired in 1951, delivered mail in the downtown area at the time of his retirement. He was born in Swanton, moved to Toledo in 1940, and in 1954 returned to Swanton, where is lived in the 100 block of Lawrence Ave. Two yeas ago he entered the Hillcrest Home in Waterville. Mr Dowell, a member of the Swanton Loadge, F & AM, also was past patron of the Maree chapter of the Eastern Star. He was an army veteran of WW1. Surviving is his daughter in law, Mrs. Marilyn Dowell, of Battle Creek, Michigan. Services will be at 1pm Monday in Biehl-Malone Mortuary, Swanton. Masonic services will be 8pm tonight.
